I’m Joe Deville, a PhD researcher in the sociology department at Goldsmiths, University of London. My research investigates experiences of over-indebtedness in the UK and technologies of debt collection, with assistance from both the Consumer Credit Counselling Service and National Debtline, and funded by the ESRC. I was recently based at the COI in Columbia, where I was appointed a visiting scholar (you can see a more detailed description of my research on their website, here) but am now back in London.
